74LS83 Binary Adder or SN74LS83N is a 4-bit fast carry integrated circuit "IC" in DIP-16 package. The 74LS83 has four independent stages of full adder circuits in a single package. It is commonly used in applications where arithmetic operations are involved.
It is used to carry out different electronics practices since it is a high-speed 4-bit binary full adder with internal carry; it accepts 2 4-bit binary words (A1 – A4, B1 – B4) and a carry input (C0).
It generates a binary output sum (R1 – R4) and a carry output (C4) from the most significant bit.
The LS83 operates with active HIGH or active LOW operands (positive or negative logic).
