Infrared Black White Line Follower Sensor track avoidance IR
This module measures the reflectivity of a surface with an infrared emitter/detector pair. The output goes to high whenever the reflectivity exceeds the threshold value, which can be adjusted with the onboard potentiometer. The reflectivity sensor module is built around the venerable LM393 comparator IC. Only 3 wires are needed for operation, V+ (5VDC), GND, and a digital pin. All pins are standard 0.1" spaced and work great with our BLS 0.1" / 2.54mm series connectors. Black / White Line Follower Sensor is an add-on for, a must have add-on, for any project with line tracking. It gives your robot the ability to detect lines, or nearby objects. The sensor works by detecting reflected light coming from its own infrared LED. By measuring the amount of reflected infrared light, it can detect transitions from light to dark (lines) or even objects directly in front of it. The mounting hole lets you easily connect one or more of these to the front or back of your robot chassis.
