74LS247 74247 BCD To Seven Segment Decoder logic gates
This integrated circuit is a decoder for a 7-segment display that uses the outputs in direct connection to the BCD and the encoded quantity is placed in the inputs with a combination of the 4 input pins. It is an easy way to use the 7-segment display with its binary value.
Description of the 74LS247 decoder
The 74LS247 is a 7-segment BCD Decoder/Driver that is electrically and functionally identical to the SN5447A/SN7447A and has the same pin assignments as its counterparts. It can be used interchangeably in current or future designs to provide a choice between two display sources.
It features full input/output ripple suppression controls and a lamp test input. Segment identification and resulting displays are shown below. Display patterns for BCD input counts greater than 9 are unique symbols to authenticate input conditions.
The circuit incorporates automatic leading and/or trailing edge zero suppression control (RBI and RBO). Lamp testing (LT) of this type can be performed at any time when the BI/RBO node is at a high level. It contains a leading edge suppression input (BI) which can be used to control the lamp intensity by a pulse or to inhibit the outputs.
The inputs and outputs are fully compatible for use with TTL logic outputs.
